Whether it is the frequency of my voice or the content of my speech, I do not know, but very few people, and none that I care about, listen when I speak. I thought you would be different, that you would hang on my every word as I hung onto yours. But I realized my mistake early, the first time we lay together entangled, my sentence dammed midstream and you none the wiser. You let me down so high were my hopes, and I was disappointed then, but I think perhaps I was mistaken. We were entangled, and my words needed not be spoken for you to understand.
Sometimes the biggest corporations in the world listen to your voice. And then they cry like babies when you hand them their asses!
ReplyDeleteWords are generally unnecessary during the entangling process.
ReplyDeleteI'm generally not such a sap, but this series of yours is making me feel sappy. This is so bittersweet and romanticky... so I shall have to view it in HeatherAnne's light: the biggest corporations in the world have to hush to hear you speak, and knowing now as I do that you're the Lorax, it makes me pleased that they must listen.
