It was your idea to escape, to cancel all plans and disappear without a word. We strolled the darkened halls, occasionally bumping into one another, nudging each other, gazing wide-eyed at beauty and adaptability rarely witnessed on terra firma. I feigned indignation when you threatened to toss me to the sharks, just as I feigned disinterest throughout all those following years. You are my biggest regret, and with every choice that's mine to make I think of you.
