C is for Campari.

It was the first time we had ever sipped from the same glass, and the last drink before my world turned upside-down. I can't remember if I was talking, and if I was talking what I was talking about. But I do remember staring intently at my martini glass, willing time to stop so that we could remain side by side forever; I remember exactly how it felt to be overcome by the profound dread of our next-day parting. And still, that you even exist remains a wonder to me, that you could ever have cared about me unfathomable.

  1. It's funny the things my mind remembers... I forget so many things in the course of my days, but oddly? I remember how to order a Kat martini. Useless knowledge for a Trivial Pursuit game, but I plan to put it to good use sometime this Fall.

  4. Actually, it's 4:28 P.M. where I'm currently sitting, so if you read this comment whenever you feel like a martini, it'll always be 4:28 P.M. and you never need feel bad (unless you decide to blaspheme by ordering it with gin).

    You're welcome.

grey goose, very dry, with three olives.
